8 Ways You Can Work On Your Health For Your Career

As a freelancer, independent contractor, small business owner, creative, or service provider, you might think your business is the most important thing. However, one other thing that is important to help you stay up to pace with your business and with your career is your health and your body. It can be common for your health to go downhill if you are a business owner and running yourself to the ground daily. In this blog post, I am sharing 10 ways you can work on your health to help you stay in shape so you can handle the pace of your business and your career.

Stretching

The first thing you can do daily is to stretch. Stretching is good for your body and can get you up from your desk or wherever you work and it can help you keep your body flexible as you work on your muscles and joints. It might not change whether or not you stay in shape, but it is a good first step.

Drink A Lot of Water

Staying hydrated is another thing you should make a priority, constantly drinking water throughout your work day! You want to make sure you are staying hydrated as you work as this can help you fuel your body and release any additional toxins. You can also add lemons if you want to add additional antioxidants.

Take Your Supplements Daily

The body itself can have a good amount of nutrient deficiencies, from magnesium to calcium. Making sure you have a daily wellness routine and take your supplements will help your body. You can set up a daily wellness routine every morning before you begin your workday to keep your body fueled.

Get Sleep Every Night

Overworking yourself can mean late nights and early mornings, which can mean that you do not have enough energy to get through your day and achieve everything you want to achieve. Getting to bed early enough and aiming to get 8 hours of sleep per night can be helpful to make sure you have enough energy each day.

Eat A Good Breakfast

As you start your day, you want to have some protein and a filling breakfast to get you through your morning. You can drink a protein shake, eggs with toast, protein pancakes, or something that you enjoy to fuel you and to wake you up. You’ll want to have a good amount of calories in your system as you start your day.

Take a Daily Yoga Class

Yoga is good for stretching your body and to work on your flexibility. It can be something you add to your daily exercise routine to get your body moving and to release any additional toxins you might have. There are different yoga classes you can take or you can try following different online yoga classes you might find on YouTube!

Breathe and Meditate for 10 Minutes

Breathing can be a part of your yoga practice or it can be something you do throughout the day to help you with your nervous system and with your overall stress and anxiety levels. You can do this for 10 minutes a day or you can take breaks throughout your day and do it for 10 minutes on and off as you develop new levels of stress or anxiety.

Journal Daily

Journaling can get the words out of your mind and it can put it on paper. It will change how you think and it will allow you to see your thoughts in a physical form. It can be helpful to get anything out that is pondering or stuck in your mind and it can help you with staying focused throughout your workday and it can help you get a better night of sleep.

Drink A Green Tea

Green tea has a good amount of antioxidants in it and it has l-theanine. This may help support your cognitive function, improve focus, and offer more relaxation. Green tea has been known to be a good alternative to coffee and to help you have a warm drink to sip on throughout your day.
